Laser Therapy for Pets

Laser therapy is a great treatment to help alleviate any aches, pains or inflammation your pet might be feeling. Pain management is an important part of our work because we want to make sure your pet’s quality of life isn’t impacted by discomfort they might be feeling. If you have questions about laser therapy, please contact us at 902.865.6400.

What happens during my pet’s laser therapy treatment?

Laser therapy might be helpful in targeting specific areas of your pet’s body where they’re experiencing pain, inflammation, recovering from a surgery or in the midst of healing a wound. Using a handheld laser wand, our veterinary team will move it along the area of your pet’s body that has damaged tissue. Depending on the area being treated and how intensive the tissue damage is, sessions might last up to 30 minutes. Our veterinary team will recommend a specific number of sessions, as well as their frequency, based on what works best for your pet’s condition.

Is the laser safe?

Our veterinary team takes all the necessary precautions to ensure the procedure is safe for your pet. We provide protective goggles to ensure the laser’s rays don’t harm your pet’s eyes. Laser therapy requires specific skills our staff has been trained on, like the proper laser settings and safety precautions needed to ensure your pet’s treatment works well.

When might you recommend laser therapy?

Laser therapy uses light waves, which are absorbed by your pet’s tissues to promote healing and regeneration. There’s a long list of benefits to laser therapy, including decreasing inflammation, helping muscles relax and improving blood flow in your pet’s cells. Your pet’s tissues respond differently depending on the various wavelengths targeting their body. Your pet might be a good candidate for laser therapy treatment if they’re experiencing:

  • Chronic pain, like arthritis
  • Surgery recovery
  • Tendon or ligament injuries
  • Traumatic injuries

    Dear Clients,

We want to thank everyone for their patience in recent months. We have adhered, as strictly as we could, to the Public Health Directives throughout COVID and with this in mind, we are pleased to say that masks are no longer mandatory at our hospital. You may still see staff wearing masks when in close contact with clients. This is a purely personal choice.

Our doors are now open and you are welcome to accompany your pets into the clinic for their appointments.

We require at least 48-72 hours for all medication refills as we are still experiencing delays with some items, but we will inform you of any backordered items.

We can still receive your food orders via phone or email, however, we now have an online store that you can access directly from the front page of our website. Please check out the free shipping and autoship discounts available.

Due to being short staffed at this time, we ask for your patience and kindness as we try to navigate through these busy times. We are doing the very best we can. If the phone is busy, please email or attempt to call again.

Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
    Saturday & Sunday: Closed

Thank you for your patience and understanding and we look forward to seeing you and your furry family members again!
