Orthopedic Services for Pets

Your pet’s achy, breaky bones might be causing them discomfort and pain. Our veterinary team can help diagnose and treat any joint or bone-related conditions your pet might be experiencing. Whether we recommend surgery or another form of treatment, our goal is to have them feeling as little pain as possible.

What are orthopedic conditions you see in pets?

Pets in their golden years aren’t the only ones who experience orthopedic conditions. Depending on factors like injuries, chronic diseases or wear and tear, your pet might be experiencing an orthopedic condition. The severity can depend on your pet’s weight, breed and age. Some common conditions might include arthritis, hip dysplasia, fractures and torn ligaments.

How do I know if my pet has an orthopedic condition?

Since pets can’t verbally tell us when they’re experiencing pain, their behaviour or changes in their body does the talking for them. It’s important to be mindful of any sudden or prolonged changes in your pet, which could be a sign of an orthopedic condition. If you notice any of the points below, please contact us at 902.865.6400:

  • Reluctance to play or do other physical activities
  • Weight loss
  • Limping
  • Stiffness
  • Difficulty moving around

How might you treat my pet’s condition?

Depending on your pet’s specific condition, we’ll recommend treatment tailored to their specific needs. For example, if your pet has a chronic condition like arthritis, pain management might be the best course of action, since it is a progressive disease. A combination of in-house laser therapy, supplements and special exercise might be helpful for your pet. In other cases, we might recommend surgery, medications or lifestyle adjustments. If you suspect your pet needs support with an orthopedic condition, don’t hesitate to make an appointment at 902.865.6400.

    Dear Clients,

We want to thank everyone for their patience in recent months. We have adhered, as strictly as we could, to the Public Health Directives throughout COVID and with this in mind, we are pleased to say that masks are no longer mandatory at our hospital. You may still see staff wearing masks when in close contact with clients. This is a purely personal choice.

Our doors are now open and you are welcome to accompany your pets into the clinic for their appointments.

We require at least 48-72 hours for all medication refills as we are still experiencing delays with some items, but we will inform you of any backordered items.

We can still receive your food orders via phone or email, however, we now have an online store that you can access directly from the front page of our website. Please check out the free shipping and autoship discounts available.

Due to being short staffed at this time, we ask for your patience and kindness as we try to navigate through these busy times. We are doing the very best we can. If the phone is busy, please email or attempt to call again.

Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
    Saturday & Sunday: Closed

Thank you for your patience and understanding and we look forward to seeing you and your furry family members again!
